Alec Baldwin has never been happier to have been fired from a job as he was to be “fired” from Saturday Night Live. For those who don’t know Baldwin has played Trump since 2016. Although I am sure we will see him a few more times over the next few months. (EW)

Michael J. Fox's McFly Cameo

Michael J. Fox makes a brief cameo as Marty McFly from Back to the Future in the upcoming video for Lil Nas X’s Christmas single, “Holiday”. (click the pic to play trailer) Michael J. Fox has always been one of my favorite actors and I love the fact that he is still working, He recently gave an interview in which he details the long term effects of his battle with Parkinson’s and how it’s affected his short term memory. Now I want to watch the Back to the Future Trilogy or see if I can find a good Family Ties rerun. (EW)

Wentworth Miller Done With 'Prison Break'

Wentworth Miller, who is probably best known for playing Michael Scofield on the show Prison Break for over 12 years, has announced he is done with that role. The actor, who is gay, said he no longer wants to play straight roles. I say bravo to him. This is great. I’m all for real and not performative representation in all underrepresented communities. I just hope he can either find and/or create the roles that he wants to play. (Deadline)

Fantastic Beasts Updates

First I had no idea this series is set for 5 films!. As I reported yesterday the third installment in the series has been in production since September. Johnny Depp had only shot one scene before he was forced to resign his role as Gillert Grindelwald. I also questioned the timing of his firing, since these allegations are not new. The case in which they were being litigated was not a criminal case and he was the plaintiff. Well, Warner Brothers explained their decision today. It seems there’s a brand new regime in charge and they aren’t ones for the bullshit. In light of Depp’s firing the release for the 3rd movie has also been pushed back until July 15, 2022. (Variety)

I’m afraid the pleas of very necessary help by the NATC (National Association of Theater Owners) may be falling on deaf ears. They are pleading with Congress and the Trump Administration for assistance during these Covid times, where over 96% of all theaters have reported over 70% losses this year. Unfortunately, This comes as Regal Cinemas just closed its remaining 18 open sites in the US and theater chains around the world are closing again due to the second wave. It goes to show horribly wrong this has been handled here. As most places are bracing for shutdowns during the deadly spike in worldwide cases, we here are still arguing about how to reopen superspreader venues. (Deadline)
