The Daily Wine Down (10-29)
LeBron James & President Obama Talk Shop
President Obama will sit down with LeBron James on his show The Shop: Uninterrupted. The former President and NBA superstar will discuss racial justice, the election, and the NBA bubble amongst other topics. I have great news for those who believe LeBron should just “shut up and dribble”. He has been cited as the most influential celebrity of the 2020 election. The Shop will air on Friday, Oct 30 at 9/8C on HBO and be available to stream on HBO Max. (Sports Illustrated)
Justin Turner Stealin' Dodgers Congratulatory Shine
Instead of celebrating the Dodgers the day after they won their first World Series in 32 years, everyone was talking about third baseman Justin Turner and how he violated Covid safety protocols. It was learned that Turner had tested positive for the Rona and he was pulled from the game during the seventh inning and isolated in a doctor’s office. Once the Dodgers sealed the victory he returned to the field, wearing a mask, to celebrate with his team. No Rona didn’t magically go away. He was still positive, less than an hour after being pulled from the game. At some point during the celebration, he took the mask off and refused to leave the field. This is such a 2020 story. I have words but I feel like I’ve wasted too many already on Turner already. So I will end this by wishing congratulations to the Dodgers. on their well-deserved victory (ESPN)
Jennifer Lopez & Armie Hammer's 'Shotgun Wedding'
Jennifer Lopez and Armie Hammer are set to co-star in the action comedy ‘Shotgun Wedding’. They will play a couple who gather their friends and family for the perfect destination wedding. The only problem is they get cold feet and then their entire wedding party is taken hostage. I love Jennifer Lopez so I will add this one to the maybe file. (Deadline)
Tony Jaa's Deadly Action Trilogy
Thai actor and martial artist Tony Jaa, best known for roles in the ‘Furious 7’ and' ‘xXx: Return of Xander Cage’ amongst others is set to star in an action trilogy franchise about a legendary assassin who is on the run from criminals and law enforcement alike. I love action movies and I bet the martial arts stunts in this move are gonna be sick. This definitely seems to be in my wheelhouse. I will file this in the maybe. (Deadline)
Mindy Kaling 'Good In Bed'
Mindy is set to star in the adaptation of Jennifer Weiner’s best selling novel, “Good In Bed” for HBO Max. Kaling’s character is an up and coming journalist in Philadelphia whose life is a hot mess to say the least. The story is basically about how she learns to love and accept herself and life’s messy imperfections. I love Mindy Kaling. She is set to produce but not write the script. I will file this under the most definitely hell yes category. (Variety)
Lakeith Stanfield, The First African Samurai, Yasuke
One of my favorite actors, Lakeith Stanfield is going to voice the first African Samurai, Yasuke in the Netflix anime series of the same name. I must admit anime is not my forte. I have been trying to get into it forever. I think this may be the one I start with. It scheduled to air next year. Stanfield is also serving as a producer on the project. (VIbe)
