'Americanah' No More.

The HBO Max series based on the bestselling novel of the same name and starring Lupita N’yongo is not moving ahead after Nyong’o dropped out due to scheduling conflicts. Danai Gurira (Black Panther, Walking Dead) wrote the pilot and was set to be the showrunner. It was originally ordered straight to series by the network. This is sad, I was really looking forward to seeing this series. (Variety)

This is amazing. Every woman who was in Margot Robbie and Christine Hodson’s writing lab has sold their script. The lab was designed to help women break into the action and franchise market, where we are woefully underrepresented. The program is called The Lucky Exports Pitch Program. NBC And The Case Of The Dueling Town Halls

I don’t even know where to begin with this one. NBC can’t seem to stop stepping in it. First, they give a primetime spot to Trump’s town hall, after he was the one who dropped out of the debate. As if that weren’t bad enough they schedule it to compete with Biden’s town hall., even after some of the biggest names in Hollywood, even their own stars asked them not to. Sing On...

The Detroit Youth Choir, who came in second on last season’s (2019) AGT are getting two shows made about them. One is unscripted, the other scripted show is in development at Blumhouse. This is awesome. I’m not a big fan of unscripted or reality shows so I will definitely tune into the scripted series. Check out a performance below.(THR)

George Clooney is set to direct and develop the big screen adaptation of John Grisham’s baseball themed novel, Calico Joe. The book is about a player whose promising career is ended by a beanball.
