TBT: The Queen of Rock & Soul
Nutbush’s Own
In our quest to spotlight this year’s inductees into the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame, we throw it back to the one, the only Queen of Rock & Soul, Miss Tina Turner. I became obsessed with Tina Turner after watching her biopic What’s Love Got To Do With It. (Sidenote: Angela Basset and Laurence Fishburne were everything and more in this move. Highly recommend it.)I went back and listened to all of her music even that from the Ike days. This will be Ms. Turner’s second trip to the HOF. She was first inducted as part of the Ike & Tina duo. This time she is going in on her own merits as a solo artist.
Tune in below to hear some of my favorite Tina Turner songs. Most are from her solo career, although there are few joints included from her days with Ike.
