The Rona Switching Roles?

It seems because it’s still 2020 and we’re living in the upside-down, Rona is playing the role of hero ok bit of a stretch maybe anti-hero? Whatever it is, Rona may have quite possibly saved us from having to sit through the sequel of the shitshow aka The Presidential Debate. After the Presidential Debate Committee decided the safest option for the next debate would be to hold it virtually the Toddler in Chief through one of his tantrums and decided he was not going to participate. He’s instead decided to hold one of his super spreader rallies. But again this may all change by the time this is published. Oh and he’s now blaming Gold Star Families for infecting him. Please let us be close to the end of this nightmare. VOTE!!! (Deadline)

Disney+ Promises a 'Soul'ful Christmas

Pixar’s ‘Soul’ will be released exclusively on Disney+ Christmas Day. It was originally scheduled for. a June release then pushed until November. Thankfully unlike Mulan subscribers will NOT have to pay extra to enjoy ‘Soul’. In markets (internationally) where Disney+ is not available the film will be released in theaters where permissible. Prom Looks Awesome

‘Prom’ looks absolutely amazing. The cast alone, Meryl Streep, Kerry Washington, Nicole Kidman, James Corden, makes me want to see the movie and I am not a big fan of movie musicals. Prom was adapted from the 2018 Broadway musical. It’s about fading Broadway stars who try to revive their careers with some performative activism. They head to Indiana where they help a teen in her fight to be able to take her girlfriend to the prom. Read the stars’ interview in The Hollywood Reporter. (THR)

Dickinson Gets a Season 3

AppleTV+ renewed Dickinson for season 3 ahead of its season 2 premiere (Jan 8). I must admit I have not seen this show, but I have heard good things about it. I will add it to the list and maybe do a Quick Pop. I have a feeling Tammy would veto it from the Popcast. See the trailer below (EW)

Dr. Strange to Appear In Spiderman 3

This is interesting casting news. Ever since the (spoiler alert if you’ve been living under a rock), death of Iron Man in End Game, I was wondering who would take over the role as Peter Parker’s mentor. Could it really be Dr. Strange? I don’t enough about their relationship in the comics to know if this is completely outside the realm of possibility. I just think it’s an interesting theory. We will see. (Variety)

Tory Lanez Charged With Assault for Shooting Megan Thee Stallion.

Finally! I was beginning to wonder if Tory Lanez would ever be held to account for what he did to Megan Thee Stallion. Charges include assault with a semiautomatic firearm, personal use of a firearm, and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle. He also faces additional weapons and assault charges. He is scheduled to be arraigned on October 13th. If convicted he could face up to 22 years in prison. (THR)

Who Knew Real Diversity Sells?

Representation matters. Long underrepresented minority groups are tired of token activism and performative inclusion in the arts. A recent study has shown that Hollywood stands to lose out at the box office if it does not address the issue of inclusion and diversity in films seriously. (Deadline)

Grey's & Station 19 Salute Real Life Heroes In Premiere(s)

Grey’s Anatomy and sister series Station 19 are doing a crossover event for their respective season premieres on November 12. Both shows are paying tribute to real life essential workers. Both shows are going to be addressing the pandemic this season. See the trailer below (TVLine)
