Still Striving For Greatness

I guess I have the same question that a lot of people have. Are we great again, yet? And if not when will we be? I mean what’s greater than having the first POTUS in history to be impeached twice within a span of a year? Both times for committing some form of treason? I mean he literally incited a murderous riot, sending a literal lynch mob after his own VP on television. Yet, people (Republicans) are still defending and covering for him. I mean dude is such a menace that he was even kicked off of Pinterest. Imagine how horrible you have to be for a Pinterest to say “Nah we don’t want you pinning your pics?” If it weren’t so fucking sad, pathetic, and infuriating it would be comical. Hopefully, we can get through the next 6 days until the Inauguration with as little drama as possible. But…I am not holding my breath… Here are some reactions to this monumental event in our history. TV in 2021

This is a more in-depth list of the one I wrote about a couple of days ago. Some of the same shows are mentioned so I won’t go over those again. Some of the other shows I am looking forward to include WandaVision (Disney+) which premieres tomorrow. I am also really looking forward to The Captain America spinoff The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (DIsney+).. The Gossip Girl Reboot (HBO Max) probably be my guilty pleasure. There are so many other shows I am looking forward to. This list definitely has something for everyone. It also provides much more content for the popcast and the site so I am good with that. Batwoman Rides Again

Batwoman is at the top of my personal most anticipated shows of 2021 list. I can not wait to see how it is rebooted with Javicia Leslie taking over the role. Although I heard from early reviews so far that Kate Kane is still a big part of the landscape and a looming presence which is understandable since I assume her character just mysteriously vanishes in the middle of the night. I just hope her disappearance doesn’t overshadow everything else especially Javicia’s turn as the titular heroine. I don’t want her to feel like a temporary stand-in. I will probably wait for a few episodes and do a quick pop at some point this season or at the end of the season. In other news about the season, Black Mask was announced as one of the major big bads for season two. Season 2 premieres Sunday (1-17) @ 8E/7C on The CW. (EW)

Save The Date...In Pencil

Thanks to Rona , everyone had to readjust their calendar. But thanks to the Grammy’s, the SAG Awards moved because the Grammy’s co-opted their night when they moved their show from the end of this month to March. Not only did they move the show to the same weekend as the SAGs but the same night. I would have made the Grammy’s switch nights. Now the SAGs will be on Easter weekend unless something changes and they have to move again. (EW)

Armie Hammer No Longer Riding 'Shotgun'

Armie Hammer’s role starring opposite Jennifer Lopez in the movie “Shotgun Wedding” will be recast after some allegations were made and texts /DMS were leaked about his sexual predilections. Apparently, he’s heavy into the BDSM scene and is a “cannibalistic” dom. I admit my knowledge of BDSM is extremely limited but from what I do know it’s not my bag, especially with Hammer. His texts and preference go beyond kinky and straight to creepy AF. But hey no judgment. What happens between consenting adults should remain between consenting adults. But that’s where the problem for Armie Hammer comes in some are saying that not all of his kink/ BDSM encounters were consensual. (THR)

Most Anticipated Albums of 2021

This is the list I have been waiting for. Say what you want about 2020 but some hella good music came out last year. Looking at this list 2021 is bound to follow in 2020’s footsteps and in that respect, it is completely okay if that happens. Here are some the of albums we can look forward to this year ZAYN, (Nobody Is Listening- 1-15); Drake; Adele; Justin Bieber; Billie Eilish; Lorde; Ed Sheeran; Rosalia; Foo Fighters; Kacey Musgraves; Cardi B; Maren Morris; Kings of Leon; and many many more.
